Our First Destination Wedding Adventures!

I decided this year that one of my New Years Resolutions would be to make a Personal Blog Post every month! Just a little recap of all the fun things Colbe and I get to do because of our job as photographers. January definitely started things out right! I’m not sure every month will be this exciting, but a girl can dream right?! We had our first two destination weddings… ever! One was a sweet elopement in Buena Vista, Colorado, and the other was a dreamy beach wedding in Tamarindo, Costa Rica! (Soon to be on my blog!) They both were short little weekend trips but it simply felt like my dreams were coming true! I’m so grateful to our brides Mykayla and Aferdita for letting us travel to capture their special days!

I fell in love with Colorado and almost convinced myself that I was capable of living somewhere where it constantly snowed. We saw all kinds of wildlife as we drove through the Rocky Mountains. Although I think snow is beautiful and the elopement we shot couldn’t have been any more perfect… I’ve always been a beach girl. I completely talked myself into moving to Costa Rica. I would live on the beach in my swimsuit and take pictures of people who wanted to have destination weddings in my backyard (aka the beach). I even download an app on my phone to learn some Spanish before the big move. I had it all planned out in my head but then Colbe brought me down to earth and reminded me of all the reasons why we love where we live in the United States. But really, don’t tempt me. Costa Rica could easily be my new home! ;)

Fun Fact: I have an obsession with Alligators and Crocodiles. I think they are SO cool! When we saw these signs I freaked out! I was so excited! Colbe and I walked all around where the river connects to the sea hoping we would find one! We didn’t. Colbe was bitten by two different crabs in the process so that was at least a little bit of excitement! Maybe someday I will reach my dreams of seeing an Alligator or Crocodile in the wild! lol
